Thank you for visiting, the reason for this site is to give you a better idea of what this project is.
Below will be several inspirational references and short descriptions as to why they are relevant.
Richard from Seaforth (working title) is a short documentary (running time 8-12 min) about a guy in his mid thirties who is balancing his career and young family with his passion for rock-climbing. Richard will take us to rock faces in our province that are largely unknown, some of them accessible only by canoe, other by long involved hikes. This balance of responsibility and escape will be captured in a fully immersed, naturalistic honest way.
My single biggest reference for the tone of the film is "Dark Side of the Lens" by Mickey Smith. I love it's poetic style and cinematography. <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/14074949?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0&color=ff0179" width="670" height="377" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe>

I would like to make honest and compelling documentaries while using my experience as a cinematographer to make them as visually immersive as fiction films. While this may not be a new idea there are some new tools that are making it far more possible.
